SFO Helps Raise Money to Rebuild Napa Valley

TeamSFOOn March 11th, SFO’s Motivating Volunteer Participation (MVP) Committee, Wellness Committee, SFO Charity Golf Tournament and Rotary Club joined forces to support the Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County 5K Run to Rebuild Wine Country.  A benefit to provide aid to the North Bay Fire victims in Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Lake and Solano Counties, the event raised approximately $100,000, which will be used to help rebuild homes for displaced families.

SFO Charity Golf Tournament was the Title Sponsor with a total of $25,000 plus another $450 team donations.  The secondary sponsor was Rotary Club of San Francisco International Airport with a $5,000 donation.

TeamSFO2In addition to volunteering at the event, 14 SFO team members participated in the run and finished in second place with $1,700 in donations.  Top individual fundraisers included SFO’s Grace Kong, who ran virtually, (#2 with $780) and Evelyn Reyes-Dizadji (#4 with $445).

Airport Commission Secretary Jean Caramatti represented SFO and the SFO Charity Golf Tournament and spoke about the wine country being part of SFO’s greater community and the  importance of community coming together to support each other. The $25,000 SFO Charity Golf Tournament donation was made in honor of First Responders.
