Based on his newly published book, Zuber: Two Centuries of Panoramic Wallpaper, Brian D. Coleman will illustrate the luxurious Zuber papers in home settings ranging from Christian Dior’s private chateau on the Cote d’Azur to a very modern apartment in the heart of Manhattan. He will also take us on a special tour of the factory in Rixheim, France, where the wallpaper is still handmade using the original nineteenth-century printing blocks.

Brian D. Coleman, MD, divides his time between New York and Seattle. He is the author of twenty-one books on the decorative arts. He writes frequently on architecture and design and is the West Coast Editor of Old House Journal.

Curator-led tours of Zuber: The Art of French Scenic Wallpaper
This lecture is being hosted by the American Decorative Arts Forum.Two curator-led tours of the exhibition Zuber: The Art of French Scenic Wallpaper will be conducted following the lecture at 2 pm and 3 pm. The 2 pm tour is only open to ADAF members. The 3 pm tour is open to non-ADAF lecture attendees. All visitors are also welcome to view the exhibition on their own before the 1 pm lecture. The SFMOMA gift store, where the book signing will take place, is adjacent to the exhibition.
