Daylight Savings

Daylight Savings Time – “Fall back” is fast approaching.  On November 6, 2016 at 2:00 a.m., the clock will be set back 1 hour to 1:00 a.m.  This requires all employees who work the Night (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) or any overnight shift to work 1 extra hour, for which they should be compensated at their contractual overtime rate.

Employees will not ear overtime under the following conditions:

  • Scheduled to be off (e.g. vacation, floating holiday or compensatory time) will only be paid for their 8 or 10 hour regular shift.
  • Work less than 8 or 10 hour regular shift (e.g. 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), in which case, they will ONLY be compensated for the hours worked.

Timekeepers/managers, please contact payroll immediately should employees arrive late for leave early from their regularly scheduled shift.

Please inform all affected employees under your review of this process.  If you have any questions, please contact Richard Frattarelli at 650.821.2020.
