Vote For SFO as the World's Best Airport!
SFO Custodial employee Yin Peng Yao’s fast and conscientious action on Thursday, April 28, led to the quick return of a traveler’s lost wallet – and helped the traveler return to SF in the process.
Yin came across the wallet in the Terminal 3 Boarding Area E restroom and immediately contacted her supervisor. The passenger was then paged, but she had already departed SFO.
After an internet search of the passenger’s name, Airport Duty Manager Lily Wang was then able to contact her via email. Because the passenger’s Driver’s License, along with cash and credit cards, were in the wallet, a photocopy of the License was scanned and sent to the passenger so that she could get through security in New Orleans and return to San Francisco. Upon returning on Sunday evening, the passenger was reunited with her wallet.
On Friday, May 6, Yin received a “thank you” card from the grateful traveler and was recognized by all the Custodial supervisors for her outstanding service and for making a difference at SFO.
Yin Peng Yao has worked at SFO as a Custodian since December 2009. She is a polite, customer-oriented worker with a positive attitude and she has actively embraced the Airport’s core values of teamwork, dependability, commitment, and pride. Her hard work, along with her honesty and integrity, help make the Airport great and SFO is proud of her service.
