Operation Clean Sweep

Monday, September 26, marks the start of SFO’s fourth annual Operation Clean Sweep—a week long Airport Community effort to inspect, clean and beautify the Airport.  Operation Clean Sweep covers the entire Airport—from the terminals, to the airfield, to the Rental Car Center.

Throughout the week, SFO Duty Managers will coordinate with Property Managers, Maintenance staff, Custodial and representatives from various departments to inspect the entire Airport.   They will ensure such items as that windows, carpets, seats and other areas are clean; and will compile a list of items that need repair.  They will also inspect tenant spaces including airline ticket counters, shops and restaurants.  And, as part of Operation Clean Sweep, on September 28, SFO will hold its 12th annual Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Walk to clean the runways.

To help our tenants with their clean-up, additional dumpsters will be available from September 26 through 30 for large or odd-size non-hazardous materials.  Electronic waste will not be accepted.

For additional information, please contact your Property Manager or an Airport Duty Manager.
