1. Why is the Airport asking for my email address?

  • SFO wants to communicate directly with Airport employees, and sending communication directly to your personal or preferential email address is a great way to ensure that you receive Airport updates and other timely information.

2. What kind of information will you send?

  • SFO will send information on a wide variety of subjects including, but not limited to: newsletters, activities and special events, discounts, airport updates, construction projects, maintenance issues, major schedule changes, and new route announcements, just to name a few.
  • SFO will send information on any issues specific to the airport or airport community.
  • From time to time SFO will send questionnaires soliciting feedback from Airport employees. Participation in these questionnaires is completely voluntary.

3. What will the Airport do with my email address?

  • The registered email addresses will only be used to send official Airport communications.
  • Email addresses will never be sold or exchanged to a third party.

4. What is the UPID number and why do you ask for it when I register my email?

  • The UPID number is a unique number specific to any one badged SFO employee that is located on the backside, lower center of your SFO Airport ID.
  • When signing up for an email, employees must enter the UPID number on the back of their badge. The information you supply will be used to ensure you are a current SFO employee.
  • SFO will periodically use the UPID to check that registered emails belong to current SFO employees. In the event the UPID number is no longer valid, a verification email will be sent to make certain the recipient is still an SFO employee. If the email holder is no longer an SFO employee, the registered email will be notified and deleted from the list.

5. How often will the Airport email me?

  • The Airport will send quarterly updates but will also send periodic special announcements or questionnaires.
  • If you indicate specific areas of interest when signing up, you may receive more frequent emails based on the topics you selected. Topics currently available are:

  • Discounts & Specials
  • Events
  • Parking & Transportation
  • Clubs & Social Gatherings

6. Should I be concerned about my privacy?

  • The Airport will never sell, barter or trade your email list.
  • The Airport is committed to prevent any unauthorized access to your Information and other Personally Identifiable Information.
  • Personal information proved to SFO is stored and managed by Campaign Monitor (www.campaignmonitor.com) which ensures that all subscriber lists, email content and reports remain private and confidential.

7. What if I no longer want to receive emails?

  • Simply click the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the email and your name will automatically be removed from the list.
