Volunteer at SFO

Volunteer Information

Volunteers for both the Travelers Information booths, the USO at SFO and the SFO Museum are always needed. If you are interested in volunteering at SFO, contact either organization.

SFO Travelers Information

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has had a volunteer program since 1955.  Currently, more than 200 volunteers staff seven information booths that are located on the Airport’s Departure/Ticketing Level.

The USO at SFO

Of the many vital services provided at SFO, none may be more important than the accommodations at the airport's United Services Organization (USO) facility.  For more than forty years, volunteers at SFO have welcomed U.S. military personnel to a "home away from home" at the airport.  Twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week, military personnel can stop by the USO office located in the Terminal 1 Mezzanine to enjoy a place to relax between flights and their next assignment.

SFO Museum

SFO Museum provides volunteer opportunities at its San Francisco Airport Commission Aviation Library and Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum. The aviation museum and library opened in December 2000 in the International Terminal. The unique facility was designed in the architectural style of the airport's own 1930s-era passenger waiting room. Visitors can learn about the history of aviation from the museum exhibitions and library. Volunteer staff play an important role in the day-to-day operation and provide important public information.
