Background Checks

Fingerprinting (also known as a Criminal History Records Check or CHRC)

Every authorized company badge signatory and/or applicant for an airport I.D. badge must undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).  Each applicant must present two forms of identification (one of which must be government-issued and include a photograph).

Note to employee: You have a maximum of 30 calendar days from the date of fingerprinting clearance to complete all requirements (including any mandated Computer-Based Training) prior to the issuance of an airport I.D. badge. If you exceed the 30-day maximum, you will be required to be re-fingerprinted before a badge is issued.

Security Threat Assessment (STA)

All employees requiring an airport I.D. badge must undergo a Security Threat Assessment (STA) in addition to a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check.

Applicants are required to pass both background checks before the airport I.D. badge is issued. In some circumstances, it may take several weeks to obtain both the CHRC and STA clearance.
