About the Program
Established in 2010, the Reaching for Number One (RFN1) program annually organizes cross-functional committees to develop initiatives to further the SFO’s Recovery to Resilience Strategic Plan goals and our mission to “provide an exceptional airport in service to our communities.” The program derives its name from SFO’s vision statement, “Reaching for Number 1,” and is foundational for achieving excellence for our passengers, employees, and the communities we work with and serve.
The committees are a space for innovative ideas, research, and development separate from divisions and sections' core business functions. The cross-functional nature of the committees encourages bold and creative ideas that can be operationalized and owned by a section after the committee’s engagement concludes. Past innovative ideas include the Sky Terrace, a public, open-air observation deck atop Terminal 2, and the SFO Green Business Certification Program, which encourages Zero Waste outcomes among the tenant community. Fiscal Year 2022-23 R4N1 Committees
The Fiscal Year 2022-23 R4N1 Committees are listed in the table below. The committees support SFO’s Interim Strategic Plan: COVID-19 Recovery to Resilience Framework, 2020-2023 (Strategic Plan). The Strategic Plan consists of six goals, 40 objectives, and 53 indicators to guide an equitable and sustainable recovery.
The committees will commence in October 2022 and conclude in July 2022. MVP and TeamSFO can accommodate new members throughout the year. If you would like to join, contact Corina Monzón. The nomination process for the other committees will open in August of 2023.
