1. General
a. What COVID-19 test is being administered?
The Abbott ID NOW™ Molecular Test. The test requires taking a swab from the nose.
b. When is testing available?
Testing will generally be available Monday-Friday, from 9 AM – 5 PM. Schedule changes will be noted on SFO Connect.
c. Where is the SFO COVID-19 Rapid Testing Site at SFO?
The SFO COVID-19 Rapid Testing Site is in the International Departures Hall, Aisle 6. Please refer to section 6 of this FAQ for a map of the location. This is not a drive-through testing site.
2. Cost
a. Is testing at the SFO COVID-19 Testing Site free?
No.
b. Can employees use their health insurance to pay for the cost of the test? Employees should verify with their own health insurance provider as to what testing may be covered.
CCSF employees: Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care accepts some City-sponsored healthcare plans, and does not accept the following:
- All Kaiser Permanente Plans
- Blue Shield Trio HMO
- Blue Shield Access+ HMO
c. Does Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care accept Kaiser insurance?
No.
d. What if my company’s health insurance is not accepted by Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care?
Employers can enter into an agreement with Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care to pay for testing for employees. If you are interested in paying for testing for your employees, please contact Rhiannon Santos at rhiannon.santos@gohealthuc.com.
Employees can also pay for the test on their own.
3. Making Appointments
a. How do employees sign-up for COVID-19 testing?
If you enter into an agreement with Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care to purchase tests for your employees, you will be provided a personalized URL where your employees can make an appointment for testing. If your employees will be using their health insurance, they should go to: gohealthuc.com/sfo
b. Can employees get tested without an appointment?
Employees without an appointment may walk-in to be tested, but availability is on a first come, first served basis. We highly recommend employees make an appointment to be tested. Appointments are refreshed on the site regularly, so if you are not able to find an appointment initially, you may be able to find an appointment if you visit the site again later.
c. What information is needed when scheduling a visit using the online portal?
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Health Insurance Information
- Contact information (email address and/or phone number).
4. Day of the Test/Results
a. What documents do employees need to bring to the site?
Employees will need to bring a form of identification, verification of their employment with an SFO employer (security badge, company ID, etc.) and if applicable, information about their health insurance..
b. How long does the testing take?
Employees will spend approximately 30 minutes at the testing site.
c. How long does it take to get results from the test?
Results will be available in approximately 15 minutes.
d. How are results shared?
Employees will be given a paper print-out of their results at the testing site. If an employee does not choose to wait at the testing site for their results, results will be available on the Patient Portal within 24 hours.
e. If an employee tests positive for COVID-19 onsite, what happens?
If your employee test positive for COVID-19, they will be connected to a Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care medical professional to discuss next steps with them.

a. Is there anyone who can help employees with the sign-up process?

b. Can employees access a computer at SFO to sign-up for testing?
Yes. Employees can contact SFO’s Business and Career Center. Staff can set-up a time for an employee to use a computer 7-days a week. Call 650-821-5242 or e-mail community@flysfo.com.
