QUESTIONS

Where does the shuttle bus pick up?
Navigate to the Pickup Locations page for details

How much does it cost?
SFO3 is free to try until September 30, 2025. Just show your SIDA (security) badge or employer ID badge upon boarding. Fare information will be posted in early Fall 2025.

Where do I park?
Parking is not available at these stations.

What other buses can I transfer to?
Several local buses connect to SFO3. Go to SFMTA’s Owl Bus map or informational website to learn about other all-night buses that can help you complete your journey.

What if my Muni connection is late?
While both GoSFO Shuttle and Muni do their best to operate on time, connections are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed. Please review the suggested connections and decide if you feel there is enough time to make the transfer. If you are concerned, please take an earlier bus to guarantee your connection. To ensure that riders already on the GoSFO Shuttle bus are not late for work, the bus cannot wait for you if your connecting Muni bus is late.

Why can’t you change the GoSFO Shuttle bus time to make my Muni connection easier?
The most important consideration when we design a bus schedule is getting people to work on time and ensuring people have enough time to get to the bus after clocking off. We have done our best to create as many Muni connections as possible while ensuring that everyone can get to and from work shifts, which usually start/end at :00 and :30 past the hour.

Why can’t you run buses when the BART trains are running? I prefer the bus.
We appreciate that many riders prefer an employee-only bus to BART, but it’s inefficient when public agencies compete against each other for the same passengers on the same routes. Therefore, we don’t compete directly against BART when they are operating along the same path.

What about safety at the bus stops?
Unfortunately, GoSFO Shuttle does not have any special security presence at stops. However, all stops are well-lit and are served by 24/7 Muni routes on major streets. It is our hope that this will help ensure the safest possible circumstances at the stops.

What if I get held late at work and I miss the last bus home?
San Mateo County runs a guaranteed ride home program where they will reimburse you up to $60 for trips home in the event of last-minute, mandatory overtime. Program rules and details can be found here: https://commute.org/rewards/. You must pre-register to qualify.

Can I bring my bike or scooter?
The buses are not equipped with bike racks, so only collapsible bikes or collapsible scooters may be brought on board. The bike or scooter must comfortably fit beneath a set of two seats without sticking out. Bike racks are available on street near all three stops. We cannot be responsible for stolen or damaged bicycles, and recommend that you secure your frame and both wheels. There are BayWheels Bike Share stations near all three stops. These rent-by-the-minute shared bikes can be an affordable and convenient way to get to or from SFO3.

Can I bring on food or drinks?
Because spilled food or drinks requires us to pull a bus out of service, we do not allow food or drink on board. Closed lunchboxes or drinks bottles are ok; disposable coffee or soda cups are not. You may not eat or drink while on the bus.

Can you bring a bus to my neighborhood?
We're really excited by how many people would like to use a shuttle bus, but we can’t run buses everywhere just yet. We are adding lines and services as possible; we may open new service close to your home in future years, so stay tuned!

My worksite at SFO is not in the terminals and not near the AirTrain; can the GO>SFO Shuttle bus take me to work?
Unfortunately, we can’t offer service to peripheral worksites as this might make the bus late for its next trip, as there are many worksites spread across a wide area. We hope to offer service to worksites away from the Terminals in future years.

Why can’t the bus pick up at other stops along Mission Street, or at other Terminals at SFO?
SFO3 is meant to act like a BART train; fast and convenient. Unfortunately, that only works if you limit the number of stops. We’d have trouble providing the trip after or before yours if it took any longer to complete each round-trip.

Can you have BART trains run later?
Unfortunately, we don’t have control over BART’s hours of operation, and BART isn’t able to offer service later at night or earlier in the morning. That’s where SFO3 comes in to help!

What if the bus is cancelled?
In very unusual situations such as severe weather, it may be necessary to cancel one or more trips on Go>SFO Shuttle. In the case of a major disruption impacting multiple trips, an SFO Alert message will be sent to all security-badged employees. You should already be receiving occasional SFO Alert messages if you provided your cell phone number when applying for your security badge. If you do not receive SFO Alerts, fill out this form. If you still experience problems, email sfoalert@flysfo.com.

Who can ride? Do I need to show an ID to ride? Can my relatives ride with me?
The bus is open to any worker at SFO who can show an unexpired SFO security badge or employee ID badge with their photo. Relatives, friends, or anyone else without one of these credentials may not ride the bus. Registration/Sign-up for this Shuttle is not necessary.

What vehicle is used and what are its features?
The service is operated with 40-foot low-floor transit buses that can seat 25 people. Additional passengers may stand if all seats are full. The buses can accommodate a wheelchair. The vehicle does not offer wifi or power sockets.

What if I have a compliment, question, or concern? What if I lose an item on the bus?
You can email sfoshuttlefeedback@hallcon.com, or for urgent matters call (650) 333-2984. Please provide as much detail as possible, including date, time, location, and if possible, the three-digit bus number beginning with “7”. This number appears in multiple locations inside and outside of the bus in white lettering.
