SFO will be welcoming visitors from around the world as the City hosts the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Week (APEC), from November 14th – 18th. Delegates, thought leaders, and stakeholders will converge in San Francisco for the weeklong conference, with SFO as their arrival and departure airport. This event is an opportunity for SFO to provide its five-star hospitality to a global audience. Preparations to ensure that SFO facilities are in exceptional condition are already underway. As with events such as Super Bowl 50 and the U.S. Conference of Mayors, SFO will be providing additional staff to meet, greet, and assist visitors with a warm, San Francisco welcome.
We must provide visible support to visitors during APEC week. To ensure robust on-site presence, the Airport will temporarily suspend the Telecommute Program from November 14th – 18th to allow for maximum on-site staffing levels.
Team members in operational roles will support airport operations as normal and work assignments as necessary throughout the event. Team members in non-operational roles (i.e., office/professional/management) are needed to volunteer to work up to three (3) two-hour shifts in an assigned terminal building during the week, focusing on greeting and guiding attendees and other guests to ground transportation locations, airline check-in desks, airport amenities, or other locations as needed. Visible and easily identifiable team members will provide essential customer support to ensure a successful APEC event. Everyone’s participation is important, as it aligns with our vision of inspiring the extraordinary, while ensuring an exceptional airport experience for guests.
Your supervisor will communicate participation expectations for your section and answer any scheduling questions you may have. Please obtain approval from your supervisor prior to signing up for shifts.

8am-10am, 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, 2pm-4pm, 4pm-6pm

The response email will include your shift(s) assignment, a printable FAQ to assist you, and instructions for picking up and returning your vest.
Customer Care will also provide tips to make your shift a more enjoyable and productive service.
