Palcare offers quality childcare & education to children of SFO employees
Palcare is a non-profit developmental childcare center that works with SFO and the surrounding communities to provide programs for children ranging in ages from 3 months to 5 years old. Through an excellent faculty, a rich environment, cutting edge educational practices, and active parent involvement, Palcare prepares these children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Founded in 1993, Palcare has one of the largest infant care programs in San Mateo County and strives to maintain affordability by offering tuition rates that are 75% – 80% of market rate, as well as providing scholarships and subsidized childcare for low-income families that qualify.
A strong relationship with SFO
Palcare was founded on a vision to fill the critical need for high-quality education and childcare for families with changing, unusual, or demanding and extended work schedules. To achieve this mission, Palcare built a partnership with SFO to better serve their employees with traditional and non-traditional work schedules. Palcare also works with SFO to provide affordability through priority enrollment - free of wait list and registration fees. Tuition assistance or discounts are also available for all that qualify.
Serving the Airport – and the surrounding community
Palcare currently serves over 200 families of all income levels, with 30% of its enrollment being children of Airport families. Many of those children will someday go on to work at Palcare or even at the Airport.

“Palcare’s philosophy comes from our image of the child and the family” says Palcare Executive Director Lisa Kiesselbach. “We believe our job is to create a warm and complex environment of people and experiences within which children can become philosophers, scientists, and poets in the making and will thrive in the fullest possible way while in our care.”

SFO’s relationship with Palcare ensures that employees who need a safe environment and extended care for their children always have a place they can turn to.
