Did you know that U.S. citizen tourists will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for traveling to the United Kingdom starting January 8, 2025? An ETA allows you to travel to the UK to visit for up to 6 months.

Did you know that since November 2009, students from Belle Air Elementary School have been enjoying planting, growing and harvesting fruits and vegetables as part of both their school curriculum, as well as their after-school programs on a school garden on the Airport’s West of Bayshore property? The garden, located on Airport land adjacent to the San Bruno school, was designed and constructed by Airport landscapers, carpenters, plumbers, and pavement and grounds employees.

Did you know that, in conjunction with its mission, each year, Airport Commission employees participate in a numerous volunteer activities and donation drives to support charitable organizations in the surrounding communities?

Did you know that, due to SFO’s physical location, certain proceedings like crime scene processing, investigations, arrests, and coroner inquiries are booked and processed by or through San Mateo County facilities?

Did you know that Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA), the foremost advocate for airport operators in North America, honored SFO with its Environmental Achievement Award for 2024? SFO was recognized for its “All-Electric Concessions Initiative”, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by eliminating natural gas use and providing adequate electrical capacity for concessions to transition to all-electric equipment.

Did you know that SFO sits on the unceded territories of the Ramaytush Ohlone people? The Ramaytush Ohlone were the first to call the peninsula home and are the original native inhabitants of this land. In November 2022, SFO unveiled a permanent physical dedication of the Ramaytush Ohlone Land Acknowledgment in the corridor between Terminals 2 and 3.

Did you know that SFO's International Terminal is the largest building in the world constructed on base isolators for protection against earthquakes?  Everyone should stay prepared and have a plan for earthquakes, which can happen at any time.  Visit the SF Department of Human Resources for earthquake preparedness resources.
