The original Airport Discount Program EZ Rider card will become obsolete on June 19, 2023. To keep the BART discount, participants will need a new card. Participants must complete account migration at https://aedp.bart.gov/ to receive the new discount card. Effective Monday, June 19, the BART fare gates will no longer accept the old card.
Participants: What you Need to Do
If you have already received and activated your new discount card (with Clipper branding in the lower right corner), you do not need to take any further action.
If you are still using the original EZ Rider Airport Discount Program card, you will need to:
- Visit https://aedp.bart.gov/ and click the “Migrate Account” button. Follow the instructions to set up your account and receive your new card. (Tip: the OTI Serial Number is on the back of your discount card and starts with “140”)
- Once you receive the new card, log into https://aedp.bart.gov/ and acknowledge you have received your new card.
- This action will deactivate your old EZ Rider/original Airport Employee Discount Program account and transfer your remaining balance from the old card to your new card. Your new balance will be posted to your wallet in the new system.
- Your new card is ready to use.
- If you have a Parking account linked to your current Airport discount card, you may update it after you receive your new discount card. Please log into your old EZ rider account and click on ‘Replace Clipper Card/Hangtag” and enter your new discount card serial number, found on the back of the card.
- You can then throw out your old card.
What You Need to Know
- The discount amount and program eligibility remain the same.
- The new card can only be used on BART.
- The new card will have an airplane design so you can easily distinguish it from other cards.
- The new card will have the Clipper logo on it because we are using Clipper technology. You will continue to use the new card the same way, but you will manage the card with the new Airport Discount Program online system, not Clipper.
- Any value remaining on your old card will be transferred to your new card.
- Once we fully transition, your old card will no longer work and you can throw it away.
If you have problems migrating your account and need help, please contact BART at: ezrider@bart.gov.
