As part of the Terminal 1 Center construction work to increase the airport capacity, the project will construct a new security connector linking Boarding Area B with Boarding Area C. To facilitate the demolition and construction in Boarding Area C, the Project Team requires the permanent closure of the Boarding Area C Security Screening Checkpoint (SSCP) starting Monday, November 7, 2022. As part of this work the project will install temporary walls and update wayfinding signage on departures, arrivals, and basement levels of the C Core area.
The Harvey Milk Terminal 1 (HMT1) Mezzanine Level SSCP is anticipated to be operational in Q2 2024, and currently planned for five lane positions to replenish the closure of Boarding Area C SSCP.
