SFO Custodians came to the rescue recently when a pair of passengers lost their purses in the Terminals. The Custodians’ quick thinking and conscientious action helped reunite the passengers with cash and personal items and illustrated the “Care” and “Excellence” that are the foundation of the Airport’s Core Values.

On January 24th, 2023, Food Service Employee Monica Angeldones came across a purse in the Terminal 3 Food Court. “The purse was open and I could see that there was a lot of money in it”, said Angela. “I knew that the owner must be looking for it, so I closed it immediately and began to look for them.” As she was looking for the owner, Angela saw COO Jeff Littlefield walking by. “I thought that he would be the best person to tell, so I flagged him down and handed the purse over to him”.

On February 4th, Food Services Housekeeper Khin Zaw happened upon a purse in front of Andale in the Terminal 2 Food Court. The purse contained both Chinese and US currency, as well as credit cards. Khin contacted the police and gave the purse to them, who were able to return the purse to the passenger.
“We find a lot of things left in the terminals while we are working”, says Angela. “Wallets, phones, credit cards. Even Invisalign braces – these wind up in the trash a lot. We always try to locate the owners, but if we can’t, then we give them to the police”.
Jeff Littlefield says, “I am so proud to work for an organization where our employees truly exemplify our Core Values. On behalf of SFO, thank you to Monica and Khin, and all of the Custodial Team for truly demonstrating Care for our guests and community.”
SFO is grateful to Monica and Khin, and to all of its Custodial employees, for their commitment to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming place for all of the Airport’s passengers and employees.
