Ramaytush Ohlone Land Acknowledgment Dedication - November 16

This month marks Native American Heritage Month. As we approach and celebrate the holiday season, let’s also take a moment to honor the rich history and contributions of the Indigenous People of our nation - contributions that can be felt in so many areas including agriculture, medicine, art, military service…the list goes on!

Did you know?
On November 9, 2021, the Airport Commission adopted the Ramaytush Ohlone Land Acknowledgment, officially recognizing that SFO sits on the unceded territories of the Ramaytush Ohlone people and that the Ramaytush Ohlone were the first to call the peninsula home as the original native inhabitants of this land.

This month, we’re excited to unveil a physical dedication of the Land Acknowledgment, which will be on permanent display in the C3C Corridor. Join us for this special dedication, where we will be joined by Jonathan Cordero, Founder and Executive Director for the Association of Ramaytush Ohlone, and Culture Director, Gregg Castro.
