San Francisco has fully reopened and eliminated capacity limits in alignment with the State’s Beyond the Blueprint for Industry and Business Sectors - effective June 15. Mayor London Breed and City Administrator Carmen Chu issued updated guidance for City facilities on June 23, 2021, based on recent changes to workplace safety regulations approved by California Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) on June 17, 2021 and Governor Gavin Newsom’s Executive Order. As such, there are no capacity limits on businesses, gatherings, or activities.
In addition, based on updated State guidance, the City fully aligned with the health and safety guidance set forth in San Francisco’s Encouraging COVID-19 Vaccine Coverage and Reducing Disease Risks (Safer Return Together) Health Order (Health Order). Impacts to the operation of City facilities include removing all physical distancing requirements, except in limited instances.
Starting on Tuesday, July 20, the Airport is removing capacity limits in office spaces, conference rooms, and breakrooms and removing circulation flow signage. At this time, all plexiglass barriers will remain in place. Airport Commission employees must continue performing a COVID-19 symptom self-assessment prior to entering the workplace each day.
As a reminder, the Airport must comply with federal, state, and local regulations requiring masking regardless of vaccination status in various settings, including transportation hubs. At this time, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Directive requires face coverings to be worn in and on airports. Until further notice, employees must continue to wear face coverings while at the Airport or anywhere on Airport property indoor/outdoor, regardless of vaccination status.
Updated information on re-opening remaining conference rooms and fitness centers will be provided in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your continued patience as we re-open and resume normal operations.
