SFO Expects Parking Garages to Be Full Later This Week, Outlines Alternatives

Airport says parking demand is already back at pre-pandemic levels

SFO announced that it expects parking garages to reach full capacity by the end of this week, outlining alternatives for customers. Although passenger traffic is currently at about 60-65% of pre-pandemic levels, parking demand is already at pre-pandemic. SFO expects all parking garages to be at or near capacity by Friday, December 17 and through the holiday period. The Airport suggests the following steps for customers:

1. Book parking online in advance
Customers are encouraged to book early using the Airports online booking system, which allows users to choose their parking dates and times and enter payment information to complete a booking in advance. Using this system would allow customers to know if parking is unavailable prior to arriving at the Airport. Long-term parking is offered at a daily rate of $18.  The daily maximum parking rate for terminal parking at the International Garages and the Domestic Garage is $36 per day.

2. Use public transit or shared rides
SFO recommends that travelers take public transit or share rides to the airport.  BART provides direct service from San Francisco and the East Bay, and there are several shuttle services to SFO.  To learn more about transportation options and to plan your trip to SFO, visit www.flysfo.com/to-from/overview.
