Don’t be alarmed by the sight of fire trucks and other emergency service activity on the airfield this week - SFO will be holding its annual Emergency Exercise at the Airport fuel farm on Wednesday, September 29th. The exercise, which will test the Airport’s emergency response capabilities, will simulate a fire affecting critical infrastructure, and will include the coordination of multiple local, state and federal emergency response agencies.
Although federal regulations require U.S. airports to conduct emergency drills every three years, SFO conducts this full-scale emergency drill annually to ensure the highest level of readiness.
