SFO’s Traveler Information Volunteer Program celebrates its 70th anniversary of operation at the Airport on February 14th, 2025.  The program, which first launched on Valentines Day in 1955 with a small number of volunteers known as “Travelers Aids” and a single desk, now comprises 163 volunteers and 9 Travelers Information booths throughout the terminals.

Traveler Information Volunteers are on hand from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week and in 2024 they provided 24,000 hours of service and assisted over 835,000 customers.  Their services range from answering passenger questions to offering shopping and dining options, helping guide travelers to their gates, or simply providing a warm welcome to SFO.
