Join the SFO community for the Airport’s third California Coastal Cleanup Days!
Each year, more than 60,000 volunteers across California come together on Coastal Cleanup Day to pick up thousands of pounds of recyclables and trash from beaches, lakes, and waterways. Since the first Coastal Cleanup Day in 1985, the event has helped bring awareness to the issues of ocean pollution and wildlife conservation. Since 2019, volunteers have collected more than 1,000 pounds of garbage and recyclables in the last two SFO sponsored events. Join us for one or both volunteer opportunities:
- Date: Friday, September 17, 2021
- Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm
- Meeting Place: A. Courtyard G (if transportation is needed); or B. 924 Clearwater Drive, Mel Leong Treatment Plant (if transportation is not needed). Limited parking is available.
- Location: Shore behind the Mel Leong Treatment Plant
Transportation (if needed) and snacks will be provided. Please help reduce waste by bringing your own reusable bottle for water or coffee.

- Location: Bayfront Park (Millbrae Ave. and Old Bayshore Hwy intersection)
