SFO is celebrating the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival in the Terminal 3 hub from now through April 18. Each Spring, San Francisco’s Japantown celebrates the heritage and cultural traditions of the Japanese and Japanese-American community. The festival takes place over two weekends (April 8-9 and 15-16), symbolizing the arrival of spring and cherry blossoms in famously fog-shrouded San Francisco. The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the largest outside of Japan.

Here at SFO, we’ll be celebrating in the Terminal 3 hub with a Cherry Blossom backdrop and live cultural performances (schedule below). You can also fold and hang an origami paper crane.

SFO Celebrates Cherry Blossom Festival performances:

  • Friday, April 7 from 10am – 2pm – OH-IN TAIKO
  • Wednesday, April 12 from 10am – 2pm – Koto harpist Shirley Kazuyo Muramoto
  • Friday, April 14 from 12noon – 3:30pm – Ito Yosakoi dance team
