Airport’s largest airline launches nonstop flights to Leonardo da Vinci Airport

SAN FRANCISCO – May 25, 2023 – The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) celebrated the launch of United Airlines’ nonstop service to Rome today. The Airport’s largest airline now offers daily seasonal service to Rome–Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" International Airport on a Boeing 777-200 aircraft.

“We are thrilled to welcome nonstop United Airlines flights from SFO to Rome,” said Airport Director Ivar C. We thank United for their commitment to SFO and are confident this new service will be a success.”

“United is already the only U.S. airline to offer non-stop flights from San Francisco to Europe, and we’re proud to further expand our leadership over the Atlantic today with the introduction of our new San Francisco-Rome service,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United. “With this new non-stop flight, United will now directly connect San Francisco to seven unique cities in Europe, making it easier for our customers to visit the most popular destinations abroad.”
