Bamboo Airways and SFO Sign Agreement to Launch First Nonstop Flights Between Vietnam and the United States

Memorandum of understanding signed following test flight from Hanoi Bamboo Airways (BAV) and SFO announced on September 24th the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to launch the first regularly scheduled nonstop flights between Vietnam and the United States. The agreement was signed following a test flight from Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) to SFO using the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

SFO Leads US Airports in Signing of “Clean Skies for Tomorrow” Statement

Airport joins 60 aviation companies worldwide to advance the use of sustainable aviation fuel SFO announced on September 22nd that it has joined 60 aviation companies around the world in the signing of a “Clean Skies for Tomorrow” statement to advance the use of sustainable aviation fuel. These signatories are accelerating the supply and use of sustainable aviation fuel to reach 10% of the global aviation fuel supply by 2030. This initiative complements SFO’s own goal to acheve net carbon zero operations by 2030.

Mayor London Breed and SFO Announce Vaccination Requirement for All Airport Workers

Mayor London N. Breed and SFO announced a requirement that all airport workers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The mandate, the first for a U.S. airport, goes into effect immediately and requires all on-site personnel to be vaccinated or, if exempt, be tested weekly for COVID-19.

SFO’s New AirTrain Stations Earn LEED Gold Certification

New stations constructed for Grand Hyatt at SFO and Long-Term Parking SFO announced that its two newest AirTrain stations, constructed at the Grand Hyatt at SFO and Long-Term Parking, have earned “Gold” certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.

AirTrain Scheduled Closure for Wednesday, September 22

Due to some additional software testing, the AirTran will be taken out-of-service on Wednesday night, September 22 at 10:00pm and returned to normal service on Thursday morning, September 23 at 5:00am. Busses will provide shuttle service between all Terminals, SFO Hyatt, Rental Car Center and the Long-Term Parking during this closure.
