SFO to Consolidate Flights in the International Terminal to a Single Concourse

All flights using the International Terminal will depart from Boarding Area G effective April 1st As a result of reduced flight and passenger activity related to the COVID-19 crisis, the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) announced plans to consolidate all flight activity in the International Terminal to a single concourse. Effective Wednesday, April 1st, 2020, Boarding Area A, which contains Gates A1 – A15, will be closed, and all flights in the International Terminal will depart from Boarding Area G, Gates G1 – G14.

GTU Hours Change

In our continuous response to the ongoing pandemic development of COVID-19, the Ground Transportation Unit will be modifying our hours of operation to meet the requirements set forth by health services and other government agencies. Our intent is to limit the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Effective March 23 through April 10, 2020,  our temporary in-person, lobby accessible hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Harvey Milk Terminal 1 – New Gate Openings Postponed

The next phase of Harvey Milk Terminal 1, which included the opening of new gates, will be postponed for at least 4 weeks. A new opening date will not to be announced until mid-April. As a result of this postponement: All American Airlines check-in and gate activities will remain in Terminal 2 JetBlue and Southwest will remain in their current ticket counter and baggage claim locations The following are not affected:

AirTrain Alternate Routing Starting March 25, 2020

Due to the decrease in riders, startingMarch 25, 2020 at 5:00 a.m., the Blue Line will temporarily operate in an alternate mode. Trains from the Rental Car Center will switch to the Red Line at Garage G and travel around the Red Line loop until they reach the Grand Hyatt at SFO station. They will then return to the Rental Car Center. The time between trains will be approximately 5 minutes.

SFOConnect Print Editions Increasing to Twice Weekly

The SFO Connect website is experiencing technical difficulties and currently has limited content available. In an effort to make sure the Airport employee and tenant communities receive updates on important information, the print editions of SFO Connect will increase to a twice weekly distribution.
