Every employee of every business and public agency operating at the Airport must wear a face covering while at work. This includes both public facing and non-public facing Airport work sites and specifically includes working in or walking through common areas such as hallways, stairways, elevators, and parking facilities. The face covering may be cloth, such as a scarf or bandana, as long as it fully covers the mouth and nose.

In an effort that exemplifies SFO’s Core Values, the Motivating Volunteer Participation (MVP) Committee is leading a mask-making initiative to fill a vital need and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The initiative seeks to get individuals to volunteer their time to sew simple, non-hospital grade facial coverings for use by the Airport community. So far, 6 employees have stepped up to volunteer their sewing skills to the effort, producing a total of 190 masks to date.
