SFO Recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Airport will host a live panel discussion examining the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the Latinx community. This discussion will also highlight how the pandemic has deepened preexisting health and social inequities for the community, and the barriers that must be removed so that everyone has a fair opportunity to live a healthy life. Corina Monzón, Airport Commission Secretary, will lead this discussion which will feature noted community, healthcare, and social justice leaders from the Bay Area.

A Quiet Revolution is Happening Inside SFO Terminals

Airport program hopes to make travel more relaxing by reducing background noise in terminals As travelers return to the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), changes in the airport experience – resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic – will be immediately visible, such as mandatory facial covering, physical distancing markers, clear protective barriers and hand sanitizer stations. But another change, in the works since before the pandemic, might be less obvious: SFO terminals are going quiet.

Employee Wildfire Smoke Notice

The Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached the Unhealthy (red/purple) range in the San Francisco area.  Attached is a Wildfire Smoke Notice required by Cal/OSHA that describes the City’s response to protect employee health and safety.  The Notice outlines regulations specific to outdoor workers who must be provided with N95 respirators for voluntary use when working outdoors for more than one hour.  In addition, please postpone any non-essential strenuous outdoor work while the Air Quality remains at Unhealthy levels.
